Bangladesh has already become vulnerable to many gradual change phenomena of climate change as well as climate change related extreme events. It has been predicted that climate change in future will bring more changes in temperature, characteristics of rainfall and natural hazards which will have significant implication on physical, social and economic systems. It is also predicted that for 45 cm rise of sea level may inundate 10-15% of the land by the year 2050 resulting over 35 million climate refugees from the coastal districts. It is found that the population living in the coastal area is more vulnerable than the population in other areas (Alam and Laurel, 2005). As an impact of climate change salinity has aggravated the coastal zone and adverse impact on livings and livelihood of the people are being felt.
Cyclone has become a regular phenamenon of cosatl region, and Dacope, Upazila under Khulna district is prone to cyclone and tidal surge. People specially poor people who live in thached house has to bear the burn to the cyclone. They loss wealth and assets they accumulate for subsisence. While they try to overcome one catastrophy another disaster emrerges. They, even do not get time to fully recover from the previous one. In recent times, the incidents is so frequent that they are compeled to move in urban areas as climate refugees. They lacks job opportunities, healthcare, shelter, education. Climate has drived them to the poverty circle.
